Policies
Not very bro of us, we know. But these policies are necessary to provide clear and safe rules for both parties.

Eligibility
Age Requirement Renters must be 18 years or older. Minors may participate only if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must complete and sign all required forms on their behalf.

Identification A valid government-issued photo ID is required as part of your digital waiver submission (front and back photo upload via CleverWaiver), completed before delivery.

Swimming Ability All participants must be able to swim unassisted and feel comfortable in open water. For safety reasons, non-swimmers are not permitted to rent or participate in any Board Bros activities.

Physical Condition Participants should be in good general health and free from any condition that could interfere with their safe use of paddle boarding equipment. This may include—but is not limited to—heart issues, recent surgeries, joint or back problems, or severe respiratory conditions. If you're unsure whether it's safe for you to participate, please consult a physician before booking.

Waiver Requirement Every participant must sign a liability waiver and rental agreement before using any equipment. No exceptions.

Booking and Payment Policy
Booking Policy
We keep things simple — but to lock in your rental, a few steps are required:
-
Submit a booking request through our website. We require at least 48 hours' advance notice. (Same-day requests may be possible depending on availability — reach out and we'll let you know.)
-
Once we confirm availability on your day, we'll send you a Square invoice for your full rental total (including any delivery fee) along with a digital waiver and rental agreement to sign.
-
Both the invoice and all participant waivers must be completed within 24 hours to confirm your reservation — no exceptions. Incomplete bookings may have their slot released. The booking party is responsible for sharing the waiver link with every rider (aside from minors who can be signed by a parent or guardian) and ensuring each person completes their own.
-
We require full payment upfront — no deposit, no balance due at delivery.
-
We accept all major credit and debit cards.

Card on File
-
All renters are required to have a card on file, saved securely through Square, our PCI-compliant payment processor (Level 1 PCI DSS compliant).
-
We do not see, handle, or store your card information ourselves — it's encrypted and managed entirely by Square.
-
This card is saved when you sign the CC-on-file authorization attached to your invoice — there's no in-person swipe required.

We will only charge your card on file if:
-
Equipment is returned damaged
-
Equipment is returned late
-
Equipment is not returned at all

If any of the above happens, you will:
-
Receive written notice before any additional charge is processed
-
Be provided photo evidence supporting the charge
-
Receive written confirmation if no additional charge is needed

By signing the CC-on-file agreement, you authorize Board Bros to securely store your card via Square and charge it only as outlined above. Disputing a valid charge without cause (chargeback fraud) will result in a ban from future rentals and may be pursued legally. Board Bros reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

Damages and Equipment Liability
When you rent with Board Bros, you agree to return all gear in the same condition as it was provided—clean, complete, and fully functional. This policy outlines your responsibilities, how damages are assessed, and how charges are handled if anything happens to the equipment during your rental.

Your Responsibilities By signing the rental agreement and waiver, you acknowledge that:
-
You are fully responsible for all gear assigned to you during your rental period.
-
You will pay for repair or replacement if gear is returned damaged, excessively dirty, or missing.
-
You will notify Board Bros immediately if gear is lost, damaged, or stolen during your rental.
-
You are responsible for inspecting the gear upon delivery.

Inspection and Documentation Process
-
Gear will be inspected and documented before delivery by Board Bros.
-
You are responsible for inspecting the gear after it has been handed to you.
-
After return, the gear will be inspected for damages within a 24-hour window.

What Counts as Damage? Damages include but are not limited to:
-
Paddleboard punctures, delamination, broken fins, warping from heat or sun if stored overnight improperly.
-
Paddle: broken blades, bent or snapped shafts.
-
Life jackets (PFDs): missing straps, broken buckles, tears or excessive staining.
-
Accessories: missing or damaged straps, pumps, dry bags, or leashes.
-
Stolen or unreturned gear—full replacement charge applies.

Estimated Fee Schedule
-
Damages to paddleboard: $200
-
Damages to paddle: $50
-
Life Jacket (PFD): $30
-
Fin or Leash: $25
-
Pump or Dry Bag: $30

Note: These are estimates; charges may vary depending on replacement cost.

How You'll Be Charged If damages or loss is identified, you'll receive:
-
Written notice via email within 24 hours.
-
Summary of findings, invoice, photo or video documentation.
-
A charge to your card on file.

Excessive Dirt or Contamination Boards returned with excessive mud, algae, food residue, pet hair, or other materials that require special cleaning or replacement will incur a $15 cleaning fee or replacement fee as outlined above. If the gear is a little dirty where we can just hose it off, we don't mind—but if it is stained to the point where it is unrentable, we will charge.

Unreturned Gear If gear is not returned and you are unreachable by end of day past your scheduled return time and date, we will:
-
Consider the item stolen.
-
Notify the local authorities if necessary.
-
Charge the full replacement cost of $200 to your card on file.

Cancellation, Rescheduling, and No-Show Policy
We get it—plans change. But to keep things fair for everyone and avoid wasted trips, this policy outlines how cancellations, reschedules, and no-shows are handled.

Cancellation
-
Cancel 24+ hours before your scheduled delivery: full refund of your rental payment.
-
Cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled delivery: your rental payment is non-refundable—no exceptions.

Rescheduling
-
Requests to change your delivery date/time made 24+ hours in advance: free of charge, subject to availability (one reschedule per booking).
-
Requests made within 24 hours of delivery: treated as a cancellation under the policy above.

Changes to Board Count / Add-Ons
-
Need more boards or more time? Reach out 24+ hours before delivery and we'll send a supplemental invoice for the difference if we have them available.
-
Reducing your board count on the day of delivery does not reduce your total—your rental payment covers what was booked and prepared.

No-Show Policy
-
If you're unreachable at your scheduled delivery location for 30 minutes and haven't contacted us, you're considered a no-show.
-
In this case, the booking is treated as a same-day cancellation: non-refundable, and gear is not left behind.
-
If you reach out the same day wanting redelivery, that's treated as a new booking (new invoice), subject to availability—not a free re-attempt.

Board Bros–Initiated Cancellation
-
If we're unable to make your delivery (illness, scheduling conflict, etc.), you'll be offered your choice of a full refund or a free reschedule—no penalty either way.

How to Cancel or Reschedule To cancel or reschedule, text or email us. The timestamp of your message will determine eligibility under the policies above.

Late Return Policy
Your return time will be clearly stated in your booking confirmation. You are expected to have the gear ready for pickup on or before the agreed time.

Grace Period
-
We offer a 20-minute grace period for unexpected delays.
-
After 20 minutes, late fees apply.

Late Fees
-
$10 per board per hour (or any portion of an hour, charged at the top of each hour) past the agreed return time.
-
If you are more than 3 hours late and haven't contacted us, we may:
-
Consider the board unreturned.
-
Consider the board stolen.
-
Charge your card on file for the full replacement cost of the gear.
-
-
If the board is not returned by the end of the operating day and you contact us the next day, you may keep the gear—we will charge the full replacement cost.

How Late Fees Are Handled If you are late, we'll notify you via text or email with:
-
Time-stamped photos.
-
Summary of late fees.
-
We will then charge your card on file.

Weather and Water Conditions Policy
We want you to have fun—but more importantly, we want you to stay safe. This policy explains how weather and water conditions affect rentals, and who has final say in whether it's safe to paddle.

Unsafe Conditions – We Call It Off Board Bros reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any rental if conditions are deemed unsafe. This includes but is not limited to:
-
Thunderstorms or lightning in the area.
-
High wind advisories (typically over 15–20 MPH).
-
Extreme heat warnings (over 102°F).
-
Hazardous air quality (AQI over 150).
-
Flash flood alerts or other active water advisories.
In these cases, you'll be given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

Light Weather – Still a Go We do not cancel or refund for:
-
Light wind.
-
Cloudy skies.
-
Light drizzle or cold temps.
-
"Not ideal" vibes.

Your Responsibility – Know Before You Go Customers are responsible for checking local conditions before delivery. If you decide you don't feel like going anymore due to non-qualifying conditions, standard cancellation policy applies—no refund if within 24 hours.
We suggest checking:

Waiver Requirement
Before your gear is delivered, every renter and participant must sign our Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Waiver as well as the Rental Agreement—completed online via CleverWaiver before delivery.
-
This waiver protects both you and us by acknowledging that paddleboarding involves risks and that you voluntarily accept them.
-
If a participant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign on their behalf.
-
Equipment will not be delivered until all signed waiver and full payment are received.

No waiver, no payment—no rental.
